Government guidance released yesterday says:
In primary schools, we recommend that face coverings should be worn by staff and adults (including visitors) when moving around in corridors and communal areas.
Therefore we ask if you could please wear a mask if you need to visit the school office (although phone calls or emails should be made instead wherever possible), coming in for meetings and when talking to your child’s class teacher at the classroom door, unless you are exempt.
Our staff will wear masks whilst walking around the school and visitors will also be required to wear a mask.
School Play
At this point in time we will still be going ahead with parents coming in to watch the school plays unless government guidance changes and we will of course keep you updated with this.
We respectfully request that all parents/adults wear facemasks for the entirety of the play and when entering/leaving the building.
Please contact the school office if you think you will not be able to do this.
Thank you for your support.
Welcome to our new Reception year group!
The children will be celebrating Harvest with a special focus on 'Hope' next Friday 1 October. This year, the local food bank have requested that schools do not make harvest collections for their charity. Therefore, as a school we have chosen to support the Haiti Earthquake Fund through the Methodist Church and are kindly asking for donations as a symbol of hope for Haiti from our families. Please put donations in an envelope and hand into your child's class or the school office on Friday 1 October. Many thanks for your support.
Please see the advice below from the local authority regarding testing for yourself and your children.
Any child with symptoms needs to isolate immediately and is required to have a PCR test and not be in school until a negative result is given.
Symptoms include a continuous cough, high temperature and/or loss of taste and smell.
As before, please email the test result to the school (knightstemplar@educ.somerset.gov.uk).
A reminder that all parents are able to get lateral flow testing kits from pharmacies, should you wish to be testing twice weekly.

The three Co-ops in Watchet and Williton kindly donated £600 towards the school swimming pool. We are hoping to use this to put towards the maintenance costs of the pool. We have lost funding due to not being able to hire out the pool becaue of COVID restrictions during COVID. It is worth remembering that no part of the school budget can be allocated to running the swimming pool. We have to cover these costs through contributions and donations, so thank you so much to all three stores!

After the second school lockdown, we are so pleased to welcome back all of the children here at Knights Templar Community Church School.
Our Staff have hung 240 balloons across the front of the school and our new kitchen manager made cookies for all of the children, which on this occasion they could eat as they arrived! It was lovely to see smiley happy faces and to be able to talk with parents again in person
Thank you to all the parents for the support that they have given to their children’s remote learning, whilst the lockdown has been in place. The children have been creative and have enjoyed their learning albeit, missing their friends. It is tough for all parents, juggling home learning, family life and job commitments.
Thank you to all the staff for being so adaptable and determined to support the families and children. The teachers for the care and effort put into the remote programmes of learning and for keeping in close contact with parents and the children. The teaching assistants for their care and teaching of the children on-site during the lockdown. The nursery team for continuing to deliver high quality early years provision and of course the cleaning team who have all worked so hard to keep the school COVID alert and safe.
We are looking forward to getting back into its routine and working together again!
