“Be the best they can be, with a thirst for learning,
a zest for living and a spirit of kindness.”
We're excited to announce that we're launching a Knights Templar Swimming Pool online booking system this summer. All bookings for the pool will be done on the below website, and no longer through WEDUC (from the beginning of the Summer holidays).
Learning to swim from an early age equips children with essential water safety skills. It helps them develop confidence and competence in the water, reducing the risk of accidents and drowning. Knowing how to swim can be a life-saving skill. Especially in our coastal community!
Sign up early to secure your pool membership at www.knightstemplarswimmingpool.uk
We are pleased to let you know that swimming has started again and will continue for as long as restrictions allow.
Classes swim on alternate half terms. The days the classes will be swimming are as follows:
First Half of every Term
Monday - Anning
Tuesday - Attenborough
Wednesday - Simmonds
Thursday - Rashford
Second Half of every Term
Tuesday - Mandela
Wednesday - Sharman
Thursday - Gates
Please note that no kit will be allowed to be borrowed; this includes swimming kit, towels and goggles. Please ensure your child has their kit in school on the correct days.
The pool will be cleaned between private users and the school using it, and strict risk assessments have been put in place to make sure everyone is safe.
The cost for your child to swim for the year is £30 and is available to pay on WEDUC now.
We are very fortunate that we have a pool on site and the children here at Knights Templar benefit from it considerably. They have greater access to regular swimming and the bonus is that we do not have to provide transport to get the children to their swimming lesson as most other schools do which would incur a greater cost for parents/carers.
The cost of running the pool is significant, even with the public hiring it out including other schools in the area. We also provide expert tuition and this ensures that the children are helped to develop swimming as a life skill which is essential living in a coastal town. The swimming pool is currently running at a deficit, as there were still ongoing costs to pay during the lock down period when no money was coming in. We need your support in paying this to make sure we can continue to keep the swimming pool maintained and available to use.
