The KTSCA are pleased to announce that we will still be running our ever popular Secret Room this Christmas! After discussing how to make this event Covid safe, all gifts will be isolated for 72 hours after they've been taken to school before the children begin to make their choices. As we cannot have parent volunteers in school, Miss Puttick, Mrs Allen and Mrs White have very kindly offered to help all of the children select, wrap and tag their gifts. This year has been a tough one and as a committee and as a school we want to make the build up to Christmas as normal as possible for the children. This year has also hit many of us financially so we have decided to increase the maximum amount of gifts each child can purchase - for Christmas only each child can purchase up to 4. We feel this may help in some way, even more so given the second lockdown we now find ourselves in!
From Monday there will be a Christmas card postbox outside the entrance to reception - if you'd like to purchase 'tickets' for your child, please put the correct money in an envelope along with your child's name, class and who the gift(s) is/are for. The postbox will be outside each morning next week. No money will be accepted after Friday.
For parents new to the school, this is how our Secret Room works....
We run this event for Christmas, Father's Day and Mother's Day. Children can purchase 'tickets' and then on a selected day they get to choose a gift for whoever their ticket was purchased for. We ensure there is a wide selection for every child to choose from. Your child will then wrap and tag the gift. Normally we allow children 2 'tickets' each but as previously mentioned we have increased this Christmas to 4. The children really love doing this and some deliberate for a long time choosing a gift for Mum, Dad or someone else and it's lovely to hear their thought process behind the gift.
We have decided to keep the price of this to £2.50 per gift. Many items are bought during sales and often the gift a child gets to choose from retails at much higher than that. We have a large selection of gifts suitable for a variety of ages - we don't however offer gifts for children.
Stay safe and well,
