At Knights Templar Community Church School, we have created a curriculum which develops all aspects of the child.

We believe that foremost an effective curriculum needs to be delivered by teachers who are passionate about teaching and who want the best for the children in their care. We are continually working on improving the quality of our teaching so that our children have the best learning opportunities and experiences.

We want our curriculum to:

• generate in our children knowledge and skills so they gain greater independence
• introduce our children to their local, national and global world
• encourage our children to have a voice
• promote a sense of joy and wonder

Our curriculum is designed to be ambitious for all learners. We pass on the importance of securing knowledge, practice and working hard to become confident and flexible thinkers. We want our learners to feel challenged, to be creative, to problem solve and to have pride in their learning. We are striving to develop the Characteristics of effective Learning from EYFS up through Key Stage 2.

Our curriculum is broad and we are committed to encouraging creativity as well as academic mastery.  We teach children to ask big questions, challenge ideas and build on both their individual and combined strengths to solve problems and respond to the world around them. We ensure each child practises taking risks, learning from mistakes and persevering towards their most ambitious goals.
