“Be the best they can be, with a thirst for learning,
a zest for living and a spirit of kindness.”
Thursday 7 March is World Book Day- the world’s biggest campaign to provide every child and young person in the country with a book of their own and an opportunity for us to celebrate children’s literature.
Here at Knights Templar we are once again inviting the children to dress as a book character for the day; this can be from a fiction or a non-fiction book. We would also like to ask each child to bring with them a preloved book that they no longer want to exchange for another book in our ‘Book Exchange Extravaganza!’
During the day, each class will be involved in a range of activities linked to books and will be sharing favourite stories with teachers from different classes in our ‘Story Sharing Session’.
At the end of the day, children will receive their £1 book token which can be exchanged for a World Book Day book from WHSmith, Waterstones or Morrisons from Thursday 28 February – Sunday 31 March 2019 (inclusive) or can be used towards the cost of another higher priced book.
If you would like to join us for our World Book Day launch assembly on Thursday 7 March, please join us in the school hall at 9am. We look forward to seeing the children’s costumes!
