SEND Teaching Assistant, Midday Supervisor and Dragons' Den Assistant!

 

SEND Teaching Assistant 27.5 hours per week, term-time only, Midday Supervisor and Dragons’ Den Assistant, 4.5 hours per week, term-time only. 32 hours per week combined.

 

This is a fixed term contract for one year in the first instance subject to school funding with the post starting in September 2025.

 

Pay grade dependent on experience

 

We are looking for a teaching assistant to join our dedicated team working specifically to support children with special educational needs in our exciting new SEND Base, The Den, which will be opening in the autumn term.

 

The successful candidate will be shaping the development of our new provision by working closely with the class teacher, Head Teacher, SENCo, external professionals and parents. They will be responsible for adapting the curriculum for the children in The Den, carrying out interventions, tracking and monitoring progress.

 

In addition, this role is being combined with a MDSA and Dragons’ Den role with the successful candidate responsible for supervising children during the lunch break, administering First Aid and providing afterschool club provision with other members of the team on two afternoons per week (3:30-4:30pm). 

 

The ideal candidate will:

 

  • Hold a NVQ Level 3
  • Have experience working as a teaching assistant with primary age children
  • Be passionate about inclusion and meeting children’s individual needs
  • Be highly motivated, resilient and committed to securing the best possible outcomes for our children
  • Be positive, proactive and always solution focused
  • Have high expectations of themselves and the children they work with
  • Be a team player with a good sense of humour
  • Be willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for our pupils
  • Be able to use initiative to introduce interesting ways of learning
  • Have a commitment to their own professional development
