Knights Templar

Community Church School and Nursery

“Be the best they can be, with a thirst for learning,
a zest for living and a spirit of kindness.”

New Intake - September 2020

Head Teacher Welcome!

Starting school is a big step for all children and we aim here at Knights Templar to make that as smooth as we can for all the children and the families.  This year we are facing unprecedented circumstances that none of us could have predicted, with so many questions that we are all asking – with no clear answers at this stage. Our plans for the transition of the nursery children into the school are dependent on Government guidance and the proposals at this stage relate to current guidance, which will change as time progresses. We will keep you fully informed.

The biggest changes impact on things like home visits which we find so useful in learning about each child – these clearly cannot take place in a physical way this year but we will be contacting you to see if you are happy to replace these with a Face time instead.

The play visits, story times and joining us for lunch, are all things too which cannot take place which is such a shame. The first physical visits will take place in the autumn term and we will confirm with you when these will actually start, how and with whom.

The children always start in our Foundation Stage Classes in small groups so that they can get to know the staff and their surroundings. This will remain the same at whatever point the children are allowed to start school.

In the next couple of weeks we will be releasing the class information where all the parents will find out who their child’s class teacher will be, what the class structure will be, which teaching assistants will be working in the classes and where in the school the classes are based.

We so want the start of school to be a positive one in-spite of COVID and we are very confident that we can make this happen for you whatever the circumstances. We look forward to welcoming you and working with you very much.

In the meantime stay safe and well.

Kind regards

David Frowde

Frequently Asked Questions

We usually have the chance to meet all of our new parents in the summer term and we are then able to answer any questions that might be a concern. Starting school is a big step and for some parents the “letting go” is a hard thing to do, even if you already have siblings in school already.

We have put together a list of questions which parents have asked in the past and have put answers with them which might be of use to you as your child is about to start school. If you can think of any others, please let us know!
